Children are natural explorers! La Dee Da’s Art and Nature Club aims to introduce children to the basics of container gardening along with arts and crafts inspired by nature. Through easy and tested projects, children will learn to appreciate and delve into their natural curiosity and wonder along with their connection to our planet. Gardening is also a wonderful tactile and sensory experience and can help children self-regulate. The feel of the soil and smell of the earth can bring comfort to many while being educational and showing kids responsibility.
Our curriculum includes learning the basics of container gardening, along with arts & crafts projects inspired by the garden: making mud pies and painting with natural dyes , printing with leaves and fruit, making sun prints, designing a bee hotel, painting rocks, and maybe even a scarecrow. Each week, children will tend to their mini container gardens, observe their plants as they grow, and create an art project. At the end of the 7 weeks, children will be able to take their container gardens home to continue their gardens outdoors, perfect for Spring! Let’s Play In The Dirt!
COVID Policy: We will be hosting each class with safety precautions in place due to COVID-19. Classes are limited to 8 students with social distancing, sanitizing all tools, materials and classroom before and after each class. Students are required to sanitize hands prior to entering class and face masks are mandatory at this time. All pickups and drop-off are handled in the back gravel lot facing Sandy Springs Circle, via carpool. We will conduct temperature checks and sanitize hands prior to entering the studio. Weather permitting classes might be conducted outdoors.
Class Cancellation Policy: If cancellation is less than two weeks prior to first class, $50 plus credit card fees will be withheld from refunds. After the first class, no fees are refundable. No refunds or credit will be given for missed classes, events or workshops. We reserve the right to cancel classes if the minimum enrollment is not reached; full tuition will be refunded.
